About

This is a blog documenting my sabbatical in the summer of 2011. I hope you enjoy what I post and, at least in a small way, share the adventure, the pilgrimage, and the journey.

“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.”

  1. I hope you have a great and refreshing time, and a whole lot of fun writing about it here! Like the picture of the pile of stones! :)

  2. Stacked ‘em myself. (This is what rocks cry out for me to do to them.) The pic is from my family’s mountain bike outing above Moab, UT, in 2009.

  3. Fr. Michael,
You really deserve this exerience. We pray that God will watch over and guide you in all that you do and everywhere you travel. This experience will truly benefit our parish with all that you share along the way. We hope to see a glow on your face and hear the song in your heart when you return. We will miss you, but are also looking forward to Fr. Gregory’s time with us. Via Con Dios. We are very happy for you.

  4. It is like being with you in Essex, Father.
I am greatly enjoying the trip.
    Fr Joseph, Whitestone, NY
